While nobody hopes they will need help from emergency and health care providers, it’s comforting to know such services are available when needed. Sissonville offers its residents dental and primary care, ambulance service, as well as police and fire protection. Sissonville residents take pride in their community and are active in many service organizations. Library and community activities are widely available. Emergency Services

The Sissonville community offers residents ambulance service through the Kanawha County Ambulance Authority and fire protection through the Sissonville Volunteer Fire Department. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department also operates a detachment in our community for police protection.

Sissonville is fortunate to have several quality health care providers, including primary care physicians, chiropractors, and dentists. They can provide many services close to home. Should you need specialized care, many excellent providers are located just 10 short miles away in the Capitol City of Charleston.

Sissonville Community Library

The Kanawha County Public Library operates a branch in Sissonville. Not only can residents check out books and other library materials, they also can book the facility’s meeting room and use the public access computers.

Service Organizations

As a family oriented, civic-minded community, Sissonville is home to several community service clubs and organizations, including the Women’s Club, Optimist Club and Lion’s Club, among others.
